Recycling 1'300, 000 PET bottles each day ...
Mexico is currently the worldwide largest consumer of soft drinks. To supply this demand, the domestic production of PET(1) bottles is estimated at 750 thousand tons, from which only 38% are recycled: half in Mexico and the rest in other countries, mainly China. (Source: APREPET).
Therefore, we conclude that most of these used bottles are thrown to the general garbage, so the process of recycle them gets difficult and slow. Thus, we can find an enormous amount of PET bottles across the country lying in streets, roads, rivers, drainage, causing a negative impact to the environment. These bottles take 500 to 1,000 years to biodegrade.
Currently there are some new additives to reduce this process to months. However, at the end of this process the polymer these bottles contains is wasted if not is recycled to manufacture new products. Therefore, at the end of the biodegradation process, PET bottles continue to pollute the environment and also force us to obtain the polymer from our planet again.
In contrast, one of the great benefits of recycling is precisely to take advantage of the PET bottles polymer to recycle them in only a few minutes resulting in world-class products, with consequent positive impact on natural resources.
This has become our reason for being. Tecnología de Reciclaje, -mostly Mexican-, was founded in Tecámac, State of Mexico in 2003, generating more than two hundred direct jobs and four hundred indirect jobs.
Tecnología de Reciclaje is proud to participate in the development of added value products while supporting the preservation of ecology and conservation of natural resources manufacturing world class products from discarded PET bottles.
As part of BIOSISTEMAS SUSTENTABLES, we invite you to know more about our group in the following link, were you will understand why we are considered the best company for solid waste management in Mexico.
